The Ghostwriting Process That Keeps You Sounding 100% You

“How Do You Make Sure the Content Reflects My Voice and Expertise?”

Voice is everything. It’s what separates generic content from content that builds trust, credibility, and connection. Whether you’re polished and professional, casual and witty, or bold and direct, your voice is your brand. So when I ghostwrite for you, replicating that voice—and elevating it—is the top priority.

Here’s exactly how I do it.

Step 1: I Listen Before I Write

Voice isn’t something I invent. It’s something I extract—from your words, tone, and thinking style.

We start with a voice capture session where I ask questions designed to get you talking like you, not like someone being interviewed. Whether we chat over Zoom, swap voice notes, or dig through your podcast interviews or previous content, I’m listening for:

  • Your rhythm and pacing

  • Words or phrases you use repeatedly

  • How you make a point (storytelling, analogies, direct facts, etc.)

  • What you don’t say (like filler words or jargon you hate)

Even a casual 30-minute chat gives me enough material to begin building a voice profile that’s uniquely yours.

Step 2: I Build Your Voice Guide

After our initial session(s), I create a personal Voice Guide—think of it as a mini-stylebook just for you. It includes:

  • Tone (confident, warm, bold, approachable, etc.)

  • Do’s and don’ts (e.g., “Don’t use salesy language,” or “Always include a personal takeaway”)

  • Common expressions or phrases

  • Sentence length and structure preferences

  • Content structure you naturally gravitate toward

This guide evolves as we work together, and it ensures every piece of content stays aligned with your voice—not mine.

Step 3: We Collaborate, Not Just Delegate

You don’t have to write a thing—but you are involved. You’ll review drafts, give feedback, and tell me what feels “off” until we get it locked in. Most clients say that after the first few posts, I’m able to write in their voice so well they forget they didn’t write it themselves.

And don’t worry—I don’t take offense to edits. This is your voice, your brand, and your name. My job is to help you sound like the clearest, strongest version of yourself.

Step 4: You Show Up Online—Authentic and Consistent

When your content reflects your real voice, people connect with you faster. They start to trust your thinking, quote your posts, share your ideas, and feel like they know you—even if you’ve never spoken directly.

That’s the power of voice-driven content. And that’s the heart of great ghostwriting.
